In addition I only list 500 items in comparison to some of the larger seller who have 50,000 items. Now that we know that the Hydra Lister / SKU Grid offers a limited service product in comparison to some of its competitors, it’s important to assess the costs. As you may have guessed, the software doesn’t support automatic purchasing. SKU Grid offer a 7 day free trial which I signed up to and was promptly provided with log in details. The platform home page takes a little getting used to and unlike most competing products pricing is based on a credit basis. The first is a fully automated platform which will source profit arbitrage opportunities, automatically load these to eBay, monitor pricing and even order the products on your behalf.

You also get Title Builder with the lister that will help you build an effective title to rank higher in eBay search results. For those who are new to the expression ‘retail arbitrage’, this is where you buy an item and then sell it on for a higher price. You will need to start by connecting your eBay Seller Account to the Profit Scraper Platform. This is as simple as clicking two links to give permission for Profit Scraper to access and update your various links (should the prices change etc). When you sign up for a PriceYak account you are asked to link your eBay shop to allow for full integration across the two platforms.

Reliability isn’t quite as good and it’s slightly more expensive for beginners. Whilst the product was easy to set up, I questioned a couple of things (to test their responsiveness) and was surprised with the speedy replies from Nick (the founder) in both instances. Whilst having been a strong advocate of Profit Scraper over the last 6 months, the free trail at Pricematik has opened my eyes to a very similar product offering. I would recommend only considering Pricematik or alternative are planning on listing more than 2,500 items going forwards. The Manager is a nice feature because you can import all of your existing listings into Pricematik. The cool feature allows you to keep track of your profit and inventory all in one place.

The second type of software is a limited service product which usually scrapes already identified opportunities and lists (sometimes monitoring but unlikely) these items to eBay. As always, it’s important that the software is supported by strong customer service. As mentioned earlier, I would strongly recommend using the American Express Cashback Platinum Card and making sure you use this link to get a further £25 cashback when you make your first sale. I’d highlight that after 2 months I’m still using the 500 Active Listings but will seek to increase this shortly.

BULK LISTING EDITOR

To compare the costs with PriceYak above, if I was to list 25,000 items using Pricematik it would cost just $0.02 per item verses $0.10 for PriceYak. A considerable saving when you are listing soo many items I’m sure you’ll agree. Paste in 1 product ID (or 10,000), hit “List”, and sit back as PriceYak automatically generates complete, beautiful listings and posts them directly to your eBay account (or other store). Whilst this is helpful to get started initially, where considerable profit is made is when you identify an item with little or no competition.

It will also make searching for your own listings more convenient than eBay’s Seller Hub. It monitors your prices and will increase or decrease your price to stay competitive and profitable. If you manually do dropshipping now, just think how much time that would save you (and profits too). If the vendor sells out,  it will drop your inventory to zero to prevent you from overselling. Don’t worry, every change made is kept in a tidy report that details every change made.

Once you’ve tracked down your first 100 ASINs the following step is relatively simple. You’ll need to insert the ASINs into the PriceYak create listing tab and run the software. The program will automatically upload these items to your eBay and initially price the product at $300 or £300 depending on the destination. As such my net profit, allowing for the various costs and additional revenue, was in the pricematik region of £513.95 or £73.42 per week. Note that at the start I had no feedback and as such it has taken a little time to get traction (I currently have 129 feedback from my 327 orders all of which are positive).
